December and OWLS!

  First Grade 1 painted papers with tempera paints and made lots of TEXTURES!

              

The next week the students could use any color paper and create an owl collage

Here are the trays I use to glue our owl collages... we use Elmer's Glue mixed with water..I am tired of the glue sticks not sticking, this way of gluing these heavy papers works very well, I highly recommend it!

Grade 3 Kente Cloth Paper Weavings .. These are quite large 18x18"

I did this with second grade! I actually think this "right-side of the brain" excersise would be more suited for grades 3 and up. BUT I am IMPRESSED!

Here is an example that looks great as it has contrasting colors

 

This piece looks great because the face and it's FEATURES are large

Here are some symmetrical paper cut-outs that were put up on the white board when finished!

Hi there - I am starting my new year as a Full-Time Art teacher and am so excited to have more time with the students.  We have a new "enrichment" class at the end of the day for each class and i find it very welcoming, as the students get to work on their projects for an extra class period!  My theme has been Africa this year. Here are some of the projects the students are working on:
